Our story . . .

Have you guys heard of the story of two women named Puah and Shiphrah? No, well I'd love to tell you a little about them and the story behind our business's name.

In the bible their is a short mention of two women who were met with a decision to follow the commands of an evil pharaoh or potentially lose their lives by obeying the call from God on their lives. In Exodus 1:16 (NIV) you find a command "When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live."

If you don't know what a birthing stool consisted of, it was literally a stool just big enough for a birthing mother to squat upon in order to be in an optimal anatomically natural position to birth a baby. In order for a woman to be able to labor midwives would normally stand on both sides of the birthing mother and use their arms to support the woman during childbirth to keep her stable and and upright as she bared down to birth the child the Lord had blessed her with.

The same hands and arms God designed to support his daughters, the enemy tried to use to cause harm. It continues to say in Exodus 1:17 (NIV) The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live.

It says they "feared God," wow how powerful two words can be.

Birthing Moses is a business of women who fear the Lord and have dedicated their lives to not follow the commands of modern day practices that endanger the women God has called us to protect. We've answered a call only to God to uphold, and protect, and assist his daughters to birth what he has called them to birth both physically and spiritually.

We've all been given a Moses to carry. A child God needs to bring into this world to deliver his people, whether it be spiritual birth or physical!
